"Pit Fighter" was made on a 13 day shooting schedule, for $600,000. Because of an investor obligation 9 days of the 13 day shoot had to be shot on a Carribean Island that was 6 miles by 2 miles square. Jesse looked to the works of some of his favorite directors for inspiration: John Ford's "The Informer" 14 days, Samuel Fuller's "Shock Corridor" also 14 days, Roger Corman's "Machine Gun Kelly" 12 days. Every shot in the film was story boarded and rehearsed ahead of time, with a view to absolutely disguising the fact that the film was anything less than a medium sized studio production.
